Tesla' logo is seen on the Tesla factory building in Berlin, Germany on February 22, 2024. A Tesla plant outside of Berlin was reportedly forced to halt production Tuesday after an electricity substation was set alight in a suspected arson attack. The Gruenheide factory, located southeast of the German capital, was left without power, as were parts of wider city, Reuters cited German newspaper Berliner Zeitung as saying. It comes as Tesla's expansion plans for its Gruenheide plant have come up against fierce opposition. However, last month locals voted down plans to raze nearby trees to make way for the enlarged plant.

Johanna Ruf was a nurse in the Berlin bunker where Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler spent his final days. In 2017, she published her memoir on her time in the bunker as the Red Army advanced in 1945. Ruf died at 94, the Berliner Zeitung reported, citing confirmation from her publisher. The Berliner Zeitung reported that Ruf was also one of the last people to see Goebbels' children before they were murdered by their parents in the bunker. Wieland Giebel, who edited Ruf's book, said that he hoped it provided an insight into what really happened at the time, per Berliner Zeitung.

[1/2] The landfall facilities of the 'Nord Stream 1' gas pipeline are pictured in Lubmin, Germany, March 8, 2022. Russia has a 51% stake in Nord Stream 1 through a subsidiary of state-owned energy group Gazprom (GAZP.MM). While the import of Russian crude oil and oil products is banned under European Union (EU) sanctions, Russian gas imports are allowed. In September 2022, several unexplained underwater explosions ruptured the Nord Stream 1 and newly-built Nord Stream 2 pipelines, each more than 1,200-km-long, that link Russia and Germany across the Baltic Sea. Gazprom and Swiss-based Nord Stream AG did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters spoke on behalf of Russia at the UN security council Wednesday. He regurgitated conspiracies about the Ukraine war, calling it "illegal" in the same breath. During Wednesday's meeting, Waters struck a more flimsy tone, criticizing Russia on one hand and obfuscating its role on the other. I'm on the fucking list," Waters told Rolling Stone in October 2022. He has also denied the existence of chemical weapons attacks by the Syrian government and defended Russian bombardment in Syria, according to Rolling Stone.
